Research-backed

For autistic adults, physical work, predictable routine, and a consistent buddy creates the ideal conditions for building durable life skills that transfer beyond the job site.

Our Why

"Every job is a lesson. Every window is a win."

The Story Behind the Squeegee

Built by someone who knows what it takes to get the job done.

Maddox Bullard is autistic. Growing up, his dad never let that be a ceiling. The message was always the same — with God, a strong work ethic, and determination, you can do anything in this life. Maddox believed it. And now he's living proof — out to show every autistic adult that the same is true for them.

What started as a window cleaning route became something much bigger — a training ground for autistic adults who just needed someone to believe in them the same way Maddox's family believed in him. Real work. Real wages. Real skills that last.

Today, every crew member is paired with a buddy and given the same foundation Maddox was raised on — faith, hard work, and the unshakeable belief that there is no limit to what you can build when you refuse to quit.

How We Work

The Buddy System.

Every autistic adult on our crew is paired with a buddy — a non-autistic team member who's there to support, guide, and work side by side on every job.

What we've found is that it works both ways. Our non-autistic employees don't just show up to help — they discover a new sense of purpose and fulfillment they didn't expect. The buddy system isn't just a safety net. It's where real connection happens.

No one works alone

Every crew member has a buddy on every job, every time — no exceptions.

Built-in support

Buddies help navigate new situations, customer interactions, and on-the-job challenges.

Mutual growth

Non-autistic employees consistently report finding deeper meaning and purpose in their work.

Real teamwork

Side-by-side work builds trust, communication skills, and lasting professional relationships.

Why This Work Matters

The science and numbers behind the mission.

From employment research to neuroscience, the evidence is clear: meaningful physical work alongside a trusted person doesn't just build skills — it rewires the brain.

85%

of autistic adults are unemployed or underemployed

Despite being capable, motivated, and talented — most autistic adults are locked out of the workforce. We're working to change that one job at a time.

more likely to stay employed with on-the-job support

Autistic workers with a consistent support person — like a buddy — are significantly more likely to succeed and stay in their role long-term.

91%

of employers rate autistic employees as equal or better

In studies of supported employment programs, the vast majority of employers report autistic workers meet or exceed expectations for quality and reliability.

non-autistic support workers report greater job satisfaction

Peer support roles don't just help the person being supported — research shows buddies and mentors consistently report higher personal fulfillment and purpose.

$1.97

returned to the community for every $1 invested in supported employment

Supported employment programs generate nearly double their cost in economic and social value — through wages earned, taxes paid, and reduced reliance on benefits.

100%

of our crews use the buddy system on every job

This isn't a pilot program or a policy on paper. Every single job we do — residential or commercial — has a buddy pair. That's our standard.

The Neuroscience

What's actually happening in the brain.

Two areas of research explain why physical work done alongside a trusted person is one of the most powerful tools for building lasting brain pathways — especially for autistic adults.

Brain Chemistry

Norepinephrine wave patterns and attention

Norepinephrine (NE) is a brain chemical that acts like a volume dial for attention and learning. Research shows it releases in rhythmic waves during focused, repetitive physical tasks — like the back-and-forth motion of cleaning a window.

These NE waves signal the brain to pay attention and strengthen the connections being used. For autistic adults, who often experience dysregulated attention, the predictable rhythm of physical labor can help stabilize NE release — creating a natural window for learning and memory formation.

In plain terms: the repetitive, satisfying motion of the work itself helps the brain get into a state where new skills and habits can actually stick.

Brain Pathways

Physical labor and proximity build lasting neural pathways

The brain builds pathways through repetition — but repetition alone isn't enough. Research on neuroplasticity shows that learning is dramatically accelerated when physical action is combined with social proximity: doing something real, alongside someone you trust.

This is because physical movement activates the motor cortex and cerebellum, while the presence of a trusted person activates the brain's social reward system — releasing oxytocin and dopamine. Together, these signals tell the brain: "This matters. Remember this."

For autistic adults, this combination — physical work, predictable routine, and a consistent buddy — creates the ideal conditions for building durable life skills that transfer beyond the job site.

Skill becomes habit
"Employment isn't just income. For autistic adults, it's identity, structure, community, and confidence."
